LecturerX is a prototype learning and research environment developed under the 911Lectures initiative to explore how technology, practical skills training, mentorship and learner engagement can be combined to better understand and address educational challenges in Nigeria.

Rather than presenting itself as a finished solution to Nigeria’s educational challenges, LecturerX is currently being used as a pilot environment for experimentation, learning and evidence gathering.

Our goal is simple: understand the problems deeply before attempting to build solutions at scale.


Why LecturerX Exists

Nigeria’s education system faces complex challenges that cannot be solved by technology alone.

Students have different learning needs, access to technology varies, practical skills are often disconnected from academic learning, and many existing digital education solutions are not sufficiently adapted to the realities of Nigerian learners.

LecturerX was created to explore these realities through direct interaction with learners.

Through courses, practical exercises, discussions, seminars, webinars, mentorship and other learning activities, we can observe what works, what does not, where learners struggle and what kinds of support produce better outcomes.

The objective is not simply to collect numbers. It is to generate meaningful evidence that can inform better educational decisions and solutions.


The 911Lectures Youth Agency & Skills Pilot

LecturerX currently serves as the prototype environment for the 911Lectures Youth Agency & Skills Pilot, a 90-day experimental project focused on helping young people develop relevant knowledge, practical skills and greater agency over their future.

The pilot follows a simple cycle:

Learn → Pilot → Measure → Dialogue → Improve → Document → Multiply

Participants interact with the platform and learning programmes while the project team studies areas such as:

  • Learner engagement and participation
  • Learning difficulties and knowledge gaps
  • Practical application of skills
  • Student interaction with digital learning tools
  • Effectiveness of different teaching approaches
  • Mentorship and support needs
  • Accessibility and usability
  • Learner feedback and suggestions
  • Potential applications of AI in education
  • The relationship between learning and real-world opportunity

The pilot is intentionally designed as an experiment and learning process, not as a claim that the final model has already been established.


From Evidence to Better Solutions

One of the most important principles behind the project is:

Build from evidence, not assumptions.

The information and experiences generated through the pilot can help researchers and technology developers better understand the realities faced by Nigerian learners.

Where appropriate and ethically collected, aggregated findings may contribute to the design of future educational technologies, learning systems and support programmes.

This creates a pathway from:

The long-term vision is to contribute to educational technology that is designed around the actual needs, behaviours and constraints of Nigerian learners, rather than simply adapting solutions developed for completely different environments.


A Research-to-Innovation Bridge

LecturerX sits at the intersection of education, research and technology.

The 911Lectures initiative provides the research and pilot environment. LecturerX provides the digital prototype through which learning interventions can be tested and documented.

The evidence generated from these activities may then provide useful insights for technology organisations and other stakeholders interested in developing scalable educational solutions.

This includes potential collaboration with Xuple Invention Hub Limited, whose broader technology vision includes developing locally relevant digital solutions.

However, LecturerX does not represent a finished Xuple product, nor does participation in the pilot imply that the findings automatically constitute a commercial product specification.

Instead, the relationship is best understood as a potential research-to-innovation pathway:

Academic & Fellowship Context

The 911Lectures Youth Agency & Skills Pilot also serves as the practical foundation for a 90-day fellowship capstone project focused on applying learning through real-world experimentation.

The project applies a simple principle:

Understanding is valuable. Application creates evidence. Evidence creates the opportunity for multiplication.

The fellowship component therefore provides an opportunity to move beyond theoretical learning by implementing a measurable intervention, documenting the process and evaluating what is learned.

The capstone is not intended to represent the final solution to the broader educational problem.

Instead, it represents a practical experiment designed to produce evidence, demonstrate learning and identify opportunities for improvement.


Our Commitment to Responsible Innovation

We believe educational technology should be developed with responsibility, transparency and respect for the people it is designed to serve.

For this reason, the pilot seeks to distinguish between:

The long-term ambition is bigger than a single platform.

We want to contribute to a future where educational solutions in Nigeria are increasingly informed by local evidence, learner experiences and measurable outcomes.

The lessons generated through this pilot can help answer important questions:

  • Where are the biggest gaps between education and employable skills?
  • Which digital learning approaches genuinely improve participation and outcomes?
  • How can AI support learners without replacing meaningful human mentorship?
  • How can technology become more accessible and relevant to local realities?
  • What should a truly Nigerian educational technology ecosystem look like?

These are questions that cannot be answered by assumptions alone.

They require experimentation, evidence, collaboration and continuous improvement.


LecturerX Is Only the Beginning

LecturerX is not the final destination.

It is a prototype, a testing environment and a bridge between ideas and evidence.

Through the 911Lectures pilot, we are creating an opportunity to learn directly from young people, document what we discover and use those lessons to inform better educational thinking and future technology development.

We are not claiming to have solved the problem.

We are building a better way to understand it—and from that understanding, develop solutions with greater precision.
